Now you know what it feels like to go to college for months at a time.

My cousin's Cobalt SS just had a bit of a hurr durr with waste gate/blowoff valve sticking. Definitely got him worried, but I think he's got it back behaving again for now. Is that a typical thing? I told him after the intercooler swap it probably wouldn't hurt to get a tune, since his gate was actuating much more and more often...

When my car was in the body shop for around a month, I missed the shit out of it.

What kinda car?

Wait, the waste gate or the BPV was sticking?
The wastgate is caused by the solenoid gunking up, typical problem. On the exhaust side of the turbo there is an actuator solenoid bit, pull it off, clean it up thoroughly with MAF cleaner, and then let it dry and reinstall it.

Got it, I'll let him know. I think waste gate, not the secondary safety majigger, though I didn't look at myself. I'll still recommend a tune, because duh.

*Supplies generous amount of gasoline on top of that*
Do what you feel is necessary.
Honestly though, why do colleges do that?

I honestly have no idea. I know they make you stay in the dorms the first year to make money off you, but why don't they let you bring your cars? It makes no sense.
![]() 05/01/2014 at 20:43 |

It makes sense for the dorm thing, but not allowing cars?
How about fuck no.
I understand extra traffic blah blah blah. If I were you I would find a place to keep the car local, and just drive it on weekends and shit.

Dude this place has parking lots up the ass.
Here's what I mean: https://www.google.com/maps/@42.68512…
But they still have a strict "no cars for freshmen" policy.
![]() 05/01/2014 at 21:02 |

It's part of the "Let's have the lowest enrollment possible and piss of the freshman right off the bat" plan.

For the auto enthusiast crowd that works!
